The concept of Memories & Scents is all about the incredible power of scents to create and evoke memories. This connection between fragrances and recollections is what primarily drew me into the world of perfumes. Thinking back, there's one memory that stands out for me, vividly capturing this concept. Let me share with you my very first "scent memory” from when I was around 10 years old. It was a special day, my mom and I went on a fun city outing, and she suggested we choose a perfume together. We visited Douglas, where a delightful lady guided us in search of the perfect fragrance. Amidst a variety of scents, the moment I caught a whiff of Chance Eau Fraîche by Chanel, I was captivated. My mom shared my enthusiasm, and she decided to gift it to me. I remember the sheer joy I felt as we left the store together afterwards.
Now, whenever I smell this fragrance, it instantly takes me back to that day. I can vividly see my 10-year-old self in Douglas with my mother. The scent not only brings back the memory but makes it come alive. This is the magical power of perfumes, which is the inspiration behind this beautiful platform.
My fascination with perfumes deepened thanks to my uncle, who has an amazing collection of fragrances together with his family. It was through him that I discovered the world of niche perfumes, a realm that was completely new to me.
